Activity 1: Blog Setup and Learning Styles

Whether in class or at home, I am using technology every day. Appliances fall under the category of technology, and I use those to simply prepare food or shower. My phone helps me stay connected with friends and family, while my laptop makes turning in assignments and organizing projects much easier. Technology in classrooms is also very relevant to my education. I’ve been taking computer classes since I was in elementary school, where we learned how to paint and type. In high school I was taught how to utilize Word and Powerpoint in my classes.
In this class I hope to learn ways to further incorporate technology into my life. Going into the education field, it is obvious that I will be working with younger generations. These kids have been way more exposed to technology than any group before, and I believe it is important that they know how to use it correctly and efficiently. I expect that this class will show me ways to utilize technology in my future classroom.

After taking the Learning Style Quiz, I learned that I am in the middle of reflective and active, with a slight preference for active. This makes sense as I would really not consider myself very reflective or very active, definitely rather a mix in between the two (which also depends on the situation). I also learned that I am extremely intuitive, which definitely makes sense and helps explain my interests and style of approaching new material. I am another pretty even mix between visual and verbal, and I have a small preference on global rather than sequential.
